Ok bare with me on this. Firstly i have read the first time page on this site. With reagards to symptoms, i get iexplorer pop-ups.

I have to add im studying computer systems engineering and have been messing around with computers for about 5 years (im 21). In trying to solve my problem this is what ive tried:

Deleted all files in Temp, temporary internet files, java cache and history.
I disabled system restore and started in safe mode, i then used the following;

Adaware-SE with latest update, custom scanning options for a thorough scan.
I ran Hijack this, which only showed one malicous entry ( A Winlogon Notify: ), which i checked and fixed, but it appears straight away, so i set HJT to delete after restart, NO LUCK.
I ran Advanced Process Termination which only showed neccesary windows processes, nothing abnormal.
I then used Dr.Delete to delete 3 files i believe to be the problem ( more later ) but no luck after restart.
I scanned my computer with Ad-Aware (again), SpyBot, ScanSpyware, Stinger, Mwav, Sysclean, TDS-3 and ran CCleaner (all with latest pattern files and updates configured for best scans) also Bitdefender and That Panda online scan (both of which came up with nothing.)

After restarting and re-activating system restore, i have the same problem. Only about 2 of the programs i used detected 1 or 2 of the files i suspect to be the problem, but they couldnt delete or disinfect them.

Basically, in my WINDOWS\system32 folder are 3 files with no information that have different names every time i reboot my computer. Today they are enl8l13u1.dll, h4j40e1qeh.dll, and otepro32.dll I can't use regsvr32 on them or delete them becasue they are always in use.

After some digging i find out one of these files is always being used by the Explorer.EXE process, and the other two by Winlogon.exe. I can usually unregister and delete the one being used by explorer by ending explorer in task manager and using the command prompt, but on restart the file is back.

A scan of my registry in regedit:
For otepro32.dll An entry in CLSID in HKC_ROOT and HKLM with threading model -> apartment, (which i know is a result of something bad).
For h4j40e1qeh.dll An entry under HKLM -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> WindowsNT -> Current Version -> Winlogon -> Notify -> Policies named DllName and the value is the path to the dll file.
For enl8l13u1.dll No entries in the registry.

Also in taskmanager is rundll32.exe which is a valid process from my system32 folder, although my research suggests its not meant to show in taskmanager. Also, windows shows me that Winlogon.exe and explorer.exe have not been modified since i have started experienceing the pop-ups.

So from what i gather, the only way i can get rid of these files is before i log into windows, which would start the processes that use the dll's and so make it impossible to delete. How would one do that?

If you are still with me here any suggestions would be great since i havent found anything like this problem on google. I will probably end up reformatting my HDD but i would still like to get feedback on this problem, and even sort it out without reformatting.

Below is my HJT log:

Ignore Logon studio, ive had that well before the pop-ups.

Anyone who actually reads all this deserves a medal. Cheers. :tazz:

Addition: I just read another post on this forum and i have a log from the l2mfix (option 1) which may be of help: Should i run option 2??

Hi MiniMagru

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Everything seems to be in order and clean, and the files have finally gone! Thankyou, although now i wish i'd done this last night before posting. Since the l2mfix log only shows guard.tmp and the one .dll being deleted, yet the other two are gone, does that mean the two .dlls im talking about where created by the first file?

Im glad its finally sorted, although being a curious person i think i will actually look into exactly how those files all worked together.

Cheers.

Hi MiniMagru

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Lets see if this will finds any hidden Trojan’s http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.
when first run the program will auto-update, Run ewido now

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
Please post the logs From Panda virus scan and HJT.logWe will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Hi MiniMagru

In to the registery and delete the entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ DyFuCA

Run under the name DyFuCA or "DyFuCA Active Alerts"

Post a HJT.Log with a panda scan

Well the first thing i did after the last panda scan was to search my registry for 'DyFuCA' or 'Active alerts' and nothing came up. Still nothing comes up, and my HKLM/ and HKCU/ software/Microsoft/CurrentVersion/ run and run once entries are clean.

Is it poosible the reg key that Panda is refering to is an entry under CLSID where the string 'Dyfuca' won't be present but still has relation to the adware?

Hi MiniMagru

The panda malware scanner is still a beta version. and may have some niggles to sort out. I have had some registery info from the Panda scan when a user has tryed to find the malware in the registery we always come up blank.

Will try to find more info later on

Hi MiniMagru

Sorry for the delay in posting back to you

Download and install EasyCleaner:
http://personal.inet...rts/ecleane.htm

After installing it check under Settings > Registry tab if the backup
option is checked and if the directory it points to exists.
This should be true by default, but check anyway.

Then click OK and click Registry
Then click Search. When it is done select all the items per color,
(most, if not all should be green) and click Remove.

Reboot when you are done and let us know how it goes.
