OK, so I just recently reformatted my HD and reinstalled my OS. I get around to d/l and installing the various software applications I had on the PC before and everything is going fine until I try to install my Microsoft Word 2000 app.

I have the original installation CD, but the origianl packaging has gone missing and with it, the product key code. I've been using this program for 4-5 years now and do not want to have to purchase a replacement. I realize it was foolish of me to not keep better track of the packaging, and yes my frustration level is very high right now

Any possible way of retrieving/recovering/determining the product key code for my Microsoft Office 2000? If I have the original installation CD, can anything be done?

In a nutshell, nope.

The key code is not on the cd anywhere.

Your best bet may be to call Microsoft and explain the situation and then hope they will give you a new key code.
