Hello.

I am an absolute novice about computers.

I have a Dell Dimension 4800. A while back my spouse decided to take advantage of an ad he saw on TV about finallyfast.com. Needless to say, it created more problems than it was worth. My desktop had been running just fine -- fast and responsive -- prior to the download from finally fast. Since then it has been slow on the startup function and I have a continuous roguesuspect from ascentive that comes up when I run my antispyware.

I had been running AVG but followed the counsel on removing malware on geekstogo. Last evening I uninstalled AVG and then scanned the system with malwarebytes antimalware as well as changed over superantispyware and Avira Antivi. The scan with SuperAntiSpyware did not show up the rogue suspect but it did surface tracking cookies only. There was no virus detected from the Avira. And finally, I also changed from IE to Mozilla Foxfire for my browser since I saw that IE had been having some security problems. So long story short, I completed each step as noted on the removal guide so I believe I'm up to date. The startup is still really slow, however, and I'm betting I've still got some junk in there that I shouldn't have. I am a regular defragmenter & disk cleanup person and try to keep on top of the regular maintenance things like that.
