Hello every one
last agust i was in the hospital and my wife got me a used laptop from a freinds of hers
from work
i just love it but i have ran in to a problem when i turn it on
i get a black screen and it says

windows could not start becuse the following file is missing or corrupt

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup
using the original set up C-D Rom
Select 'r' at the first screen to start the repair

I don"t dont have any cds that cam with it and her freind at work was layed off
and she moved

If i Bought a recovey disc from compaq

will this fix it
and how would i do this
