I've seen this issue elsewhere, but following generalized fixes hasn't helped, and I don't want to try to use someone else's personalized solution.

1) My laptop Dell Inspiron 1420 had been connecting fine to any network, wirelessly and through ethernet.

2) In the past week, however, it suddenly stopped getting internet through ALL networks except the one I have at home. I haven't changed any settings manually, and I just can't figure out the situation.

3) Directly connecting through an ethernet cable does not change the result.

4) Even though I've tried some of those fixes, I have no problem going through them again for continuity.

Someone to guide me would be a godsend.

Solved. Just a simple DNS hijacker I wasn't detecting.
