I think my son has acquired something from the net while using my computer.

For a few weeks now I unexpectedly get security pop up windows from sites I have never gotten them from before.

Web pages stop loading, they just hang.

I tried running Trend Micro and it says I need the current Java. I have the current Java.

Sometimes on the 2nd try the pages load, sometimes they don't.

SuperAnti Spyware doesn't detect anything. Pest Patrol doesn't show anything. AVG doesn't detect anything. Spyware blaster didn't find anything either.

This is very annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nobobody asks you to change your default browser.
I asked you to try Firefox, so we can determine, if it's IE problem, or something else.

You can always...
...go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
