Windows XP problems with office

Hi please help!!,
I was recently prompted to update office which i done but it wanted the original disc to complete the update which as i bought the computer several years ago and second hand i have not got, and ever since i have been unable to use excell etc, it constantly brings up the installer window and then asks for the disc.
the computer has been very slow recently and seems to be running all the time i don't know if these are connected ????

I'd try to use system restore and go back to before you installed the update. Click on Start, All programs, Accessories, System Tools and then System Restore. Pick a date from before your upgrade and cross your fingers. MS Office is very particular and if you were able to find a CD from the same version, it still may refuse to accept it(!)
