Start up high pitched whine

Since having my laptop connected to a whiteboard projector I have had a very high pitched whine occurs from startup until I logon to xp.
Please can someone tell me how to remove this noise. Realtek software was installed at the same time - could this be connected?

look in the cd drive...remove cd/dvd

Thanks happyrock but I have nothing in cd/dvd drive so this is not the solution.

try uninstalling the Realtek software ...you can always reinstall it if its not the problem...

Uninstalled both realtek programs, restarted and all is now fine. Many thanks for your assistance.
