computer not working... please help

hi,
turned on my laptop and can't seem to connect to the net.. i could this morning but can't now. these are a few of the things that are coming up
* FAILED TO CONNECT. CHECK WIRELESS DEVICE OR THE SETTING OF THE NETWORK CONNECTION"
* WINDOWS CAN'T FIND ANY NETWORKS
* the windows wireless service is not running on this computer

i have tried with 2 different internets and both don't work.. also i can't use windows help and support as it won't open and i can't even turn on my firewall... nothing is working.... i tried to switch users and it took ages to load and said WINDOWS COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE SYSTEM EVENT NOTIFICATION SERVICE. any ideas?? please i'm desperate... i have windows vista.. thankyou x
