Windows 98 locks when it boots

When I attempt to boot my Windows 98 computer it boots all the way until the desktop is suppose to appear. At this time Windows stops. Any suggestions?

Hey kas1263 and welcome to Geeks To Go.

Have you tryed to boot up in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). ? Once you are in safe you need to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results. Click the HijackThis Guide to learn more.

Also if that doesn't work can you please try this :-
:: Just as soon you see the desktop background press Crtl + Alt +Del and can you right down the programs that you can see.
