client can't locate server

We lost the connection to our server when the alarm guys detached the alarm from the demarcation point.
Now Quickbooks POS 5.0 on client can not find the sever.
We are on ATT DSL through a 2wire and a router.
Dear God someone help pls :)

go to Start > Run: and type CMD

in the command prompt type Ping ServerName

Does the server reply to ping?

You might want to get ahold of your isp and have them take a look into it. Sounds like the Dmarc might be a little torqued. Do you have any internet access at all?

Also, try the obligatory power cycle on your modem and router. After that, go back to the command prompt and type: ipconfig /release, followed by ipconfig /renew, then finished up with ipconfig /flushdns.
