I had bought a computer from a friend after my other computer had died on me and wanted to wipe out the hard drive by reinstalling windows xp that I received from my University. I had found that when I got the computer that it had no virus protection and after installing a few virus and spyware removers I believed that i had removed a large chunk of mal-ware so that I could at least function with the computer. I tried to reinstall windows but the computer still wouldn't let me. I was wandering if someone could help me in removing the remaining issues so that I may correctly reinstall windows. Some details that I noticed would be where my clock is in the lower left hand corner it is in military time and it says VIRUS ALERT! next to it. Also in my add or remove programs there is a themexp.org program that wont uninstall. When i first uninstalled stuff it had this windows xp thing that always wanted to download and have me pay for stuff and obviously this was the mal-ware. Again if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
