I understand USB HDD's don't work as fast as internal, but I was seeing if this would work in case I need to do it sometime. I'm lost on this Acronis True Image program and I tried creating a copy on the external so it would boot from that but when it comes to the bootscreen I see the B.S.O.D. (which tells me I did something wrong). So how can I make a partition on this drive and boot it?

What did you have True Image do for you? Did you clone a drive, or did you create an image?

Cloned the drive. I don't really know how to create an image though.

I don't think you will be able to boot the drive from USB. Try removing the old drive from the computer and replacing it with your clone. Windows should boot up fine if the clone is good.
