I just got my new HD and I plugged everything in and when I turn my comp on it runs fine, but nothing shows up on the monitor. In the past I had to use a VGA to DVI adapter because my comp wouldnt work with DVI. I am running dual monitors and I cant seem to find out why my monitor wont show up. Im quit sure my vid card works because a spot lights up red when I turn my comp on and off. I am an ATI HD2900XT. I have no idea why it isnt working. If you need more specs just tell me and i will provide. Thanks

Hello Drumbum667...

Do you have both monitors connected?

Have you installed the operating system and the video drivers?

Resolved in Live Chat by resetting the CMOS and reseating the video card.

Yes, the only problem is that now I cant get my stupid External HD to be recognized by Vista. Vista recognized it at first, but then I plugged in my other external HD and the first one stopped working. I really need this because it has my backups.

Disconnect the external devices.

Open Device Manager and expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Right click on each USB Root Hub listed and choose "Uninstall"...accept the changes.

Reboot and let Windows reinstall the Root Hubs....then reboot again.

Connect the device that contains your backups and see if it is detected by Windows.

Okay well I have done that, and now I have everything installed and its still not showing up in My Computer. I can see it in Disk Management but I cant view its properties and its not on the top part of Disk Management.
