Hello Picky...

Windows XP should automatically create a restore point every 24 hours...providing the Task Scheduler Service is running.

Click Start, then Run, type services.msc and click "Ok". In the list of services, locate and double click on "Task Scheduler". Is the service "Started" (running) and the Startup Type set to "Automatic"?

automatic in all ready in there. I lest the system on for 24 hours so I guess that is why I didn't have a restore point for today.
