Digital camera wont work now with Win.XP

I had windows 98..worked fine....upgraded to windows XP professional ,now nothing I hook up to my U.S.B. ports...My didgital camera can't put any pictures on the computer....I checked my USB ports they say they are working properly...I tryed to uninstall my disk that came with it...reinstalled it and it still doesn't work...HELP!
