It would be great if anybody help me to solve this problems. My desktop experienced following error message "*.exe is not a valid win32 application" and I decided to uninstall and then re-install the software, after I read some statements from Forums. However after I uninstall the one of those .exe softwares (Symantec antivirus), I cannot install that again. The message is telling that "the wizard was interrupted before symantec antivirus client could be completely installed.

The other error message that I have is during the installation of the client firewall; following error message is received "error 1304. Error writing to file c:\windows\system32\drivers\symredrv.sys. verify that you have accecc to that directory"

Could you let me have your thoughts about the resolution of this problem.

"*.exe is not a valid win32 application" error is often a sign of an infection. Your inability to install security programs, would be another sign.

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
