It would be great if anybody help me to solve this problems. My desktop experienced following error message "*.exe is not a valid win32 application" and I decided to uninstall and then re-install the software, after I read some statements from Forums. However after I uninstall the one of those .exe softwares (Symantec antivirus), I cannot install that again. The message is telling that "the wizard was interrupted before symantec antivirus client could be completely installed.

The other error message that I have is during the installation of the client firewall; following error message is received "error 1304. Error writing to file c:\windows\system32\drivers\symredrv.sys. verify that you have accecc to that directory"

When I read also the potential problem solving advises in http://www.geekstogo...-Log-t2852.html , I attempt to follow the instructions. First of all, I downloaded the ATF-cleaner.exe, and we I run it, it just appear in the screen for a couple of miliseconds and disappear. Then, the system restrore tool on desktop gives the following error message "the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application" when I run it.

Later, I got the maleware application and it run!!!. Some infected files, folders and registry are found and then malware asoftware deleted them (I can post the log file if required). Still I cannot install the antivirus and firewall. I downloaded the HijackThis 2.0.0.2 from the site but it gives the folowing error when I run it (HijackThis.exe is not a valid win32 application). I got the same error message from version 1.99.0.1. However version 1.97.0.7 worked fine. (I can also post the log file if required). Could you let me have your thoughts about the resolution of this problem?
