Cant log in! Virus issue?

I apologize beforehand if this does not belong here, but i think it has to be a virus or a hardcore corrupted file, I cant whatsoever log into my user name, tried it all, safe mode, recovery disk,such and such, even trying to reinstall windows xp wont work, changing the [bleep] boot sequence is just horrid and i even tried to hook up the hd to another computer, it just wont take this hd. The owner of this computer has the hd dangling , i think it may have to do with that in being damaged to the point where he cant properly use it anymore, but i dont know!
