Welcome, let's get started.

Ad-aware has found object(s) on your computer

If you chose to clean your computer from what Ad-aware found, follow these instructions below…

Make sure that you are using the * SE1R42 28.04.2005 * definition file.
Open up Ad-Aware SE and click on the gear to access the Configuration menu. Make sure that this setting is applied.

Click on Tweak > Cleaning engine > UNcheck "Always try to unload modules before deletion".

Disconnect from the internet (for broadband/cable users, it is recommended that you disconnect the cable connection) and close all open browsers or other programs you have running.

Then boot into Safe Mode

To clean your machine, it is highly recommended that you clean the following directory contents (but not the directory folder);

Run CCleaner to help in this process.
Download CCleaner (Setup: go to >options > settings > Uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours" for cleaning malware files!)

* C:\Windows\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ <- This will delete all your cached internet content including cookies.
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* Empty your "Recycle Bin".

Run Ad-Aware SE from the command lines shown in the instructions shown below.

Click "Start" > select "Run" > type the text shown below (including the quotation marks and with the same spacing as shown)

"C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Professional\Ad-Aware.exe" /full +procnuke
(For the Professional version)

"C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Plus\Ad-Aware.exe" /full +procnuke
(For the Plus version)

"C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal\Ad-Aware.exe" +procnuke
(For the Personal version)
Click Ok.

Note; the path above is of the default installation location for Ad-aware SE, if this is different, adjust it to the location that you have installed it to.

When the scan has completed, select next. In the Scanning Results window, select the "Scan Summary"- tab. Check the box next to any objects you wish to remove. Click next, Click Ok.

If problems are caused by deleting a family, just leave it.

Reboot your computer after removal, run a new "full system scan" and post the results as a reply. Don't open any programs or connect to the internet at this time.

Then copy & paste the complete log file here. Don't quarantine or remove anything at this time, just post a complete logfile. This can sometimes takes 2-3 posts to get it all posted, once the "Summary of this scan" information is shown, you have posted all of your logfile.

Also, keep in mind that when you are posting another logfile keep "Search for negligible risk entries" deselected as negligible risk entries (Mru's) aren't considered as a threat. This option can be changed when choosing your scan type.

Remember to post your fresh scanlog in THIS topic.

Hello, moocow Please try this if you wish to clean your Machine..
The files found are in your microsoft quaranten folder you need to remove it from the folder
then can you also can you perge your restore folder as no program can clean
without you disabling it first..

Please do this if you want to clean that folder
http://service1.syma...src=sec_doc_nam

Scan again with, Ad-aware delete what is found..

Reboot/Restart your computer …..

Scan again with Ad-aware…Post the new log here..

Then if you are clean we can set a new Restore point …
But only, if you’re clean…

Regards..

numbnuts ..

Yes... I followed his advice. I already had system restore off anyways, so the programs should've already purged the restore folder. After deleting the microsoft quarantine files, I ran Ad-Aware like instructed.

I had some errors trying to run Panda, but Trend Micro found:

TROJ_NAIL.A C:\Windows\nail.exe
TROJ_AGENT.ABS C:\Windows\system32\zqzomk.exe
TROJ_BUDDY.F C:\Windows\zqluchmoiu.exe

Okay it looks like it got everything except for the file that renames itself constantly. I keep getting a message like this

Terminated trojan process 2320 (c:\windows\system32\cipgzge.exe)

Unable to rename file c:\windows\system32\cipgzge.exe (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process). Scheduling file to be renamed on reboot
Trojan cleaning finished.

If I reboot it just renames itself and I get the same message.

EDIT: okay apparently I was wrong, I am running Trend Micro again and it found the same files again, and it seems Trojan Hunter renamed nail.exe but couldn't get rid of it, because it also found Nail.exe.tcf

Also, a new Aurora pop-up just appeared, but I figure this is just BS?

Hi moocow

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Download Process Explorer by Systernals from HERE

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Use Windows add remove programs uninstall the following:
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe
C:\Program Files\eDonkey2000\eDonkey2000.exe

Lets see if this will finds any hidden Trojan’s http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.
Ewido will auto-udate tne run a full scan save the log when the scan has finnished.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Unzip Process Explorer and double click on procexp.exe

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of svcproc.exe once and then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the svcproc.exe under winlogon Click OK.

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of svcproc.exe then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the svcproc.exe explorer.exe Click OK.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O3 - Toolbar: Find - {8D029AEC-E412-4948-84B5-699A740946AE} - %SystemRoot%\System32\iefind.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ggpgou] c:\windows\system32\evrqyb.exe
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Please copy the text in BOLD below, and paste it into a blank notepad window.
Save it as vundo.reg and in the save as type box choose all files.

Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

If everything looks alright, I guess the only thing left to do is create a system restore point? Also, if I ever run into this problem again (either myself or someone else), is it still recommended to come to this site? Or would it be okay to try and fix it on my own, following the instructions I've received on here.

Thanks!
