Hi, i am writing this on my laptop. i wanted you to know this because my desktop is, from my point of view, broken. you see, while i was downloading a video player, (i have no idea what i'ts called.) my pc started to run slowly. then i noticed 3 other files were downloading. when i opened them the close button wasnt highlighted so i couldnt close it down. i ran a virus scan and it showed 3 trojans and 2 worms. i then searched for the file. i found it but it dissapeared. every time i looked for it i found it was in a diffrent place. fearing that someone was searching my files, i unplugged the pc. now i cant get on any apps. the internet shuts down on its own and i cant play games. (world of warcraft, etc.) i have asked my step-dad to fix it but he said the windows disk is lost. when i told him i was about to call emachines, he got angry. since then i havent gotten on at all. i have tried system restore but when it reboots it says system restore failed. please help. my laptop doesnt have enough ram for the games i play and all i can do is sit at home watching telivision.

p.s. i know know that downloading unknown files is foolish and i wont be
doing it again...

thanks,

Nick

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
