I have been having problems with my automatic Vista update - i get an error msg saying windows can't check for updates and when i manually click check for updates, it says there is an error was found: "Code 80244019 Windows encountered an unknown error"
This is very disturbing and would appreciate any help in getting this error taken care of.

I use AVG but lately it's been unable to update on it's own so i have been doing a manual download of updates and updating...AVG finds no viruses, etc

thinking about what i said about AVG i reinstalled it...lo and behold it found spyware upon re-installation/update.
