adware virtumundo problem

I have determined that one of my computers is infected with the virtumundo virus. I read previous topics on how to remove the virus but the computer in question locks up when you try to connect to the internet so I don't know how to do the first step in the fix as I cannot connect to the internet to download the proper files.
