My Dell Dimension system is a bit long in the tooth and it's six USB ports are all 1.1. while all the peripheral are 2.0.

Is it possible to increase transfer speed byusing a Hi Speed hub?

Does anyone have experience in this?

Cheers !!

Plugging a USB 2 hub into a USB 1 hub will reduce it back to USB 1.1 speeds because that's the maximum speed going. A USB 2 device (any USB 2 device) will only run at the maximum speed of the port its connected to, in your case USB 1 speeds. That being said most USB 2.0 devices are happy to run at USB 1.1 speeds.

If you added on a usb 2.0 add on card, then you can plug in the 2.0 devices.
