what does this mean this message popped up when i was talking to someone on my messenger. The following message could not be delivered to all recipients: does anyone know what that means. any help appreciated.

Means exactly what it says, the message could not be delivered to the person you sent it to. Who knows why not. Chances are they went offline or there was a connection problem when you sent it

is there any way the person i was talking to could have connected other people to our conversation somehow. i had never had a message like that before on IM.

No, it just means there was a temporary glitch. That's happened to me a number of times. Resending the message will usually work.

I do believe you can invite friends into the conversation, if this happened you would have received a message, something like "Name has now joined the conversation" or similar.

WLM does that all the time to me. I also get kicked offline without warning, and have file transfers fail. I find Yahoo IM to be much more reliable. :)
