I am having a few problems:
1) Windows Vista when in non-basic appearance gets "foggy" randomly and will not clear up on mouse over. I switched to basic appearance, and it seems to work now, but any reason for this happening?
2) There is a constant fast ticking sound from my speakers/headphones that doesn't go away.
3) My firebox browser is almost totally unresponsive, when I move my mouse, different parts of the screen turn black and the buttons don't seem to navigate at all.
4) overall slower performance and programs being non-responsive.

I have done a little bit of research from some of the .exe I found running in my task manager, and there seem to be some abnormalities, but I don't have enough knowledge to know which ones (if any) I should delete, and how to do it.
This is my first post, I have reviewed what to do before you post, and I believe I have completed all that I could with my knowledge. I did try to run "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" but I think something on my computer didn't allow this to run.

I ran HijackThis and have a report from that if it helps.
Thanks in advance.
