I hope I'm posting in the right topic, I'm not sure if this is a hardware or a driver problem. Dell XPS 210 won't recognize a new I/O Magic 22x external usb dvd drive. It shows up in device manager but claims a missing or corrupt driver. I've tried every usb port. It does not come with installation software and when I plug it into my Sony Vaio it is immediately recognized and installed and assigned a drive letter. I searched windows updates for new drivers but there were none. All windows critical updates are installed. The I/O Magic site does not show any drivers for this device that I could find. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall the device in device manager and update driver to no avail. The original cd dvd drive on the Dell was removed because it was not functioning properly. (wouldn't read a cd or dvd, made very loud noises) Thank you in advance for your help.
