I want to improve the quality of the sound from my desktop speakers (when I listen to music) but the bass-treble option in audio control panel is gray and I can't get to it. Please Help. Thank you.

The only way to set bass/treble is if your soundcard/driver has the capability. If your computer is using on board sound, you may not have the option.

What kind of computer do you have ... desktop, laptop? Who makes it... ie Dell, HP, Toshiba?? What's the model number? If this is a desktop, do you know if there's a separate sound card installed... ie Creative Labs or other?

You can tweak equalizer settings in your WMP, or Winamp or whatever.
