I have had some problems with virul registry entries & on removal of these, I seem to have removed some harmless ones, My drives nec DVD+-RW & Sony DVD Rom/CD+-RW are no longer detected by Sonic Record Now (This is the software originally installed on my PC when I bought it, and I know that Mallware targets these softwares and their key values to the operating system), but now on the other end of my infection I would like to restore my registry key values, I have had error messages during diagnostics that the upper and lower filters are missing or deleted, can I fix this as also my DVD+-RW drive no longer reads cd rom disks, it still burns dvd's cd's through NERO, so it is not a drive fault I think, just some of the registry values, I wonder if this can be done without having to reinstall windows as I have a lot of data on my system. I would really appreciate any help, Thanks in advance RGK.
