Hey guys, I have a 500gb onetouch 4 external, I had been backing up my documents and settings folders from each of my computers... well my laptop needed rebooting so I decided to backup the whole computer and reformat the hd on the laptop. So I used PC Packup Utilities 2008's DiscClone feature not realizing it would wipe out my whole external hd... I guess the problem is it turned it into a bootable device... so now it registers as 146gb of space on the whole external hd which is actually a 500gb....

Okay now my question is this, is there any possible way to recover the files that were deleted in the backup? I know there is restore software but I have tried most of them before and had no luck so figured I would ask here and get some ideas from users who have made the same dumb mistake before :)

Thanks for any ideas...
