Trouble with internet pages

please can anyone help me.

i have a problem with my internet. i have windows xp and the latest ie on my computer.
everytime i go to send an email from hotmail, the page closes down when i hit the send button and the email dosent send. also when i went to purchase some tickets off the net and i hit the purchase button on the page, the same thing happened and the page closed.

what is wrong here and can anyone tell me how to fix the problem.
