A HJT log can only be posted in the malware section, also I am not that sure it would really give us an special information that you couldn't just tell us yourself. So if you just tell us what you set up though we can give you all the advise you desire. I personally run Vista Ultimate 64-bit and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit beta so I am intimately familiar with this OS.

Thank you for replying so quickly. Perhaps the major challenge would be that thre are so many places that require acrobat and want to install active x-- never works and i have been to microsoft for help and jo joy there.
Next- TRYING to get a printer running CONSISTANTLY.
These seem to be the most pressing at the moment
and i guess you could say interconnected as the active x issue comes up when i need to print something i have just completed online such as banking, ordering rx's , downloading w2's to print etc.

Thank you so much and i hope to be happily up and running as you are...

I take it you were aware of the adobe flash player incompatibility problems when running x64 bit explorer ? If not, , then adobe flash doesnt work within x64 bit windows and this is why you are having so many active x failures etc , , ,if you are trying to print off some web pages from within x64 bit explorer, then this is also affected.

At present, there still isnt an update / fix from adobe concerning the inability of their flash player to play within a 64bit enviroment. The only way around it for the moment is to use vistas x32bit explorer instead of the x64bit explorer that will be the default on your machine.
I went through all this a few months ago when i built my x64bit vista machine and i now find it no hardship to use the x32 bit explorer instead of the problematic x64 one.
Adobe are still working on a fix for windows x64 bit OS, , they have successfully sorted it out for linux x64 users , , us windows users have to wait in line for being so bold as to use a microsoft product ! :)

Hope that is of some help to you

and at the time of writing, i am unaware of any further develpoments from adobe regarding the fix.

Good luck, , kev
