:) This is driving me crazy! I keep getting this window at startup that says Windows Installer (preparing to install), then I cancel, comes up again, then sonic activation module, it waits for a cd that I don't have, then I cancel that! After a few seconds the 1st one pops up again, cancels again and sonic pops up! This has been since December!
My son put in Naturally speaking by Dragon, but then took it out because it wasn't working! Perhaps maybe that is why it is looking for something to install, but I want it out! I have checked everywhere on microsoft, no luck unless you pay them LOL!!! Anyway can anyone help me before I go crazy!!! :) :) I did go into remove/add programs, saw sonic encoders or something like that, tried to remove, but did not do it!!!! Thanks anyone :)

Do a search on Windows Installer, double click Windows Installer, open the folder and click on file: MSICUU, scroll down to Sonic Activation Module, and select remove...

The previous post from me relates to the sonic activation module that pops up when Windows starts up. If you do not need this program, or do not have the roxio installer disc, the previous post guides you on how to delete it from the WIndows Installer file...

I'm also having a problem with the popup window "Sonic Activation Module", asking me to insert the CD, which I don't have. I've tried all the "fixes" from this site as well as from several others and nothing works.

I'm with you there. If you do come across a definite "fix" please post it. Thanks

Go to all programs, hit RUN, type in MSCONFIG, hit STARTUP, uncheck ISUPM & ISSCH, restart. Worked for me!!
