Hello guys,

I have a lap top which is 4 years old now. It has gotten slowoer and slower esp on the boot. I have defrag many times and system clean up. I have Cleaned up my start up programs. I have removed all software I can.

these things have worked slightly but still running slow.

Is there anything you recomend for me to do (registry clean? I heard it is dodgy) to speed my computer up.

Is hardware the only option?

Can you post the specs of that machine? OS and version, Processor, Ram. HD space and free HD space?

And the typical software that you run that is slow?

I'm only asking because newer programs require much more RAM and faster processors to run. For instance MS Office suite 2003 has no trouble running on Pent III with 250 K ram, while MS Office Suite 2007 wouldn't even open on that kind of machine.

If we have a better idea of the specs of your machine and the programs you want it to run it would make giving advice easier. :)
