Hi,

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum. This just started last night. I booted up the laptop to watch a DVD and the 'one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency' showed up. Since I'd checked the second hard drive last week I thought maybe it was just wanting to check both within the same time frame so I hit the button to bypass and went on my way. When I booted up this morning, it was there again and I let it run. Now I can't find the log in the event viewer to see what it turned up, (from googling I know there should be an autorun source or something like that, nothing exists) but I did find an error that says "the file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run chkdsk" over on the system side of event viewer.

Any advice on how to be able to see the log or run chkdsk to get a log would be appreciated.

You can run error check from the properties of the hard drive.
Right click the drive you want to check. Under properties there is a tool tab. Under error checking, click check now. It may want you do do this next time you reboot.

Okay. Is there an option to save a log or will one be automatically generated?

No error log will be generated. You will get a log of what it found, but only on the screen.
