I need to create a new partition to install Linux (Ubuntu 8.10) on.

I already have the disc ISO burnt and all.

Im trying to not lose anything I have on my computer right now.

Anyone know how to create this new partition from existing memory on my C:

you should be able to boot into the live Ubuntu cd and use gparted to reduce the size of your windows partition, then create and format the free space as a linux partition. I have done this on a couple of computers.
