Sound Card Problem?

I'm trying to transfer a cassette onto my computer so I can put it onto a CD.
I use to be able to connect one end of the cable to my boom box phone jack and one cable to the Line-In or Aux on the computer. This no longer works. Is it possible for this part of the sound card to become damaged????

hi
check to make sure it running the right driver for the sound card you can reinstall the drivers to see if they got messed up some how.

I figured it out. The line in volume setting was set to mute
