Use selective startup to stop some programs from loading when you first start the computer. Many programs install to load at startup when they will run just fine starting them when you need them. You will need to play with different ones in the selective startup to see which works best for loading. I find that camera software seems to slow the computers down the most so i set them to disable to load at startup.

Like what SRX660 said, you should disable some applications from starting when your computer does. You can easily do this by:

1. Clicking Start
2. Click "Run..."
3. Type "msconfig" and hit OK
4. Go to the "Services" tab and check "Hide All Microsoft Services"
5. Find anything you don't want popping up, and uncheck it
6. Then click on the "Startup" tab
7. Same thing here, just be careful not to disable anything important

Thanks for the replies. When i go to run and type in misconfig , a box appears saying:
"Windows cannot find misconfig" Make sure you typed the name in correctly. What does this mean? Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I finally spelled it correctly and done as directed and still slow. when I leave startup in selective mode, at startup a box appears on the screen and says to put it back in general startup mode, I recheck boxes again and they are still unchecked, but there is no difference at start up. Thanks again for your help.
