In using my OE6 (on my XP pc with Firefox) I normally get up to 50 emails each day; and when I click Send and Receive I can see the 50 messages being loaded. But today when I clicked Send and Receive I got the message that there was 4333(!) messages to be downloaded and the download began. I stopped after some 250 and cancelled the Send and Receive operation.

Whatever could cause that? Is there a way I can download just, say, 100 of these messages ... to see what may be going on?

FWIW .. when I go to the same email account using a different pc, I do not see any but a few messages waiting to be downloaded.

Suggestions? Thanks much.

FWIW ... that odd behavior no longer occurs. As Gilda Radner used to say ... "never mind." Sorry for the panic message. ... wdc
