1. Why do you think you are infected or in other words what are the symptoms?
2. I see some Symantec components running. Are they leftovers or are you running 2 antivirus programs?

As a sidenote. I don't see anything malicious, but since some of them are very good at hiding, that is not my final conclusion.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I used to have Norton running on the pc but I have uninstalled it. I thought I might br infected as once or twice when I downloaded some files from the net it said it found something and quarantined it. I wasn't sure if it came through before that.

Would you happen to know the type and version of the Norton software you used?
It could be slowing you down and there are special removal tools to get rid of the remains.

If McAfee finds things, it shows that it is operational. You should however consider your "sources" if this happens on a regular basis.

Then I would advise to use the Norton Removal Tool:

• Download the Norton Removal Tool. Direct DOWNLOAD link
• Save the file to the Windows desktop.
• On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
