Philips Freevents laptop suddenly stopped working

Hi,

So I was browsing on my laptop and suddenly the screen went blank and now will not come back on. Just regular browsing nothing complicated. Switched laptop off by holding down power button but when it comes back on theres still no picture showing. It sounds OK, theres no smell like a hard drive going, or anything particularly irregular. The CD drive will not open. Any help guys? The only thing i can do cirrently is let the power run out to see if that would do anything but other than that I'm clueless. AAAh!
