Norton is 2004. I've had that in there since I bought the computer. In 2007 we were hit with a virus that caused so much havoc I had to take the system to a local computer repair guy. He recommended the second layer of protection and...till now, I haven't
had a problem.

I will rip it out and see what happens, but I suspect I'll have to reinstall Windows all over again.

I finally succeeded in getting SpyDecetor all the way out with the use of "HyJack This". I reinstalled Windows again and then Norton. I managed to get to the Microsoft Page and completely download the 4 Pack without incident. I re-booted and went back to the Microsoft page where it said I had additional update but as soon as I tried to download them the computer hung up and I can no longer get back to
the update page.

An interesting aside here might be that my Norton Live updates no longer work eighter. I have to go to their site. download a .exe file and run it. Any suggestions what to do next?
