Hey G2G. Got myself a problem here.

My laptop has sound issues. I get nothing at all from my speakers, and when I plug in headphones I get a crackling sound that goes in time with the music, oddly enough. Plugging in external speakers does nothing. My mic doesn't pick up any sound, unless I flick it. I'm not sure if that means anything.

My computer picks up the sound card, and I've tried everything in my power regarding drivers. Uninstall, re-install, update, un-update, you name it I've done it. Is my sound card trashed, and if it is is there any way to get around this without spending money on a new one? I'm willing to do anything illegal short of stealing a new sound card; any mods or whatever you can think of.

My laptop runs in Vista.

Thanks in advance.
