Im using my old laptop HD as an external drive but I am unable to access the files in my user folder. It say something like "not authorized." I removed the windows password before I swapped drives. I need to find away around this without swapping HD's again because I stripped the screw and am unable to remove the HD.

I use Windows Vista SP1 on both drives.

Thanks in advance, Debo

Normally you just go into the account and Vista should re-assign the permissions automatically. Did you boot into Vista on the old drive on the old laptop before you removed it or was that not possible?
