I have ALTEC Lansing speakers w/ an HP Pavilion that were working fine and at some point about 3 days ago they began to have a "Big Hall" echo. Are the going bad or has something been inadvertantly changed to cause this? If I did something it was unintentional. Ideas?

Try going to your Control Panel, and then select Sounds and Audio Devices. It will vary depending on your software, but look for an advanced, or sound effects button. You should see many different choices available, try changing to default, or something similar. <_<
