Upon turning on computer, peripherals dont turn on. Only fans do. A green light on the motherboard does light up.

Prior to this I removed dust from the fans and heat sink. I damaged some pins on the old processor(p4 2.8GHz 512MB cache) when putting it back in. I replaced it with a p4 3E 3GHz 1MB cache, which should be compatible according to http://www.cpu-upgra...SUS/P4P800.html

There is a possibility that something might be loose as I pulled out the power supply.

Your help is much appreciated.

Pull and reinstall all connections to the hardware( power and data cables). Fan's starting says the MB has power. Hit repeatedly the delete key to see if the BIOS will come up. If no bios, it is time to start replacing hardware until the problem is found. You must have memory, a good HD , motherboard, keyboard, mouse, monitor, fans to boot into the bios. you do not need cdrom drives, or anything else attached to the computer.
