Looks like you're getting a lot of this one these days:

Google has been running slow for a couple of days. Yesterday I noticed that it was connecting to 7.7.7.0 (in the status bar), but it wasn't until last night that it started redirecting my search results.

I followed the instructions listed in the "DO THIS FIRST!" post, and Malwarebytes caught something it called a Trojan. I didn't save a log, unfortunately. The problem has gotten better, but it isn't gone: it still goes through 7.7.7.0, and if I search for anything relating to "google hijack virus" or wdmaud.sys" it redirects the search results. I've been using blackle.com as a search engine, because it's the only one that doesn't redirect.

Thank you! That seems to have done the trick -- no more bad sites from Google, and no more weird IP showing up in the status bar. I have no idea where I picked this bug up -- we keep AVG up to date and it runs every day, and I don't run around downloading things from sketchy websites. Do you have any suggestions for how to keep this from happening again?

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
