Hi,

Malicious code found in file C:\Windows\Temp\VRT53E.tmp
Infection: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Injecter.bza

I think I have one or two viruses that I've been unable to clean with Malawarebytes. My internet shield, Shaw Secure, has been blocking attempts at files trying to access the internet and has been putting up repeated "Malicious Code" Alerts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Larry

Hello, LarryJB, and welcome to GeeksToGo! Sorry for the delay in reply, the forums have been busy.

  • Download OTListIt2 to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTListIt.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTListIt2.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

The log for OTListIt2 will be very long and may not fit in one post. Please make sure that it didn't get cut off, and feel free to post the rest of it in a separate reply. :)

Hi handhfan,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the virus I downloaded prevented the start-up of Windows on my computer, so I was forced to use my recovery disks to format my hard disk. On the bright side, my computer is running well again!

Again, thanks for your reply, I appreciate your help and the assistance provided at Geeks to Go website.

Cheers,

Larry
