Hello, I have a question. How can I remove this window: http://www.geekstogo...dscn0147mw1.jpg

One more thing, usually my login screen always ask me the username and password(I can't explain technical stuff very well but the login window was a form of small rectangle window which I put the username and password inside. But after re-installing windows xp, the login window changed to something else.
I like the previous form, how can I change it back?

What is "something else"?

As for your first problem....

  • Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
  • On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  • Under System Startup, click Edit. This will open boot.ini file in Notepad.
  • Copy all content, and post it in your next reply.

I've successfully re-edit boot.ini by changing the value to 0.

The login window used to be windows 2000 type of login window. It think you call that classic.
Also when I click shut down, it only show 3 option instead drop down arrow for more more options like in windows 2000.

Okay, I found an example to make this much clearer.
I want my login window to be like this:

Since you didn't post boot.ini file, it's hard for me to comment.

As for login Window, I can see what you want, but I need to know how it looks now.

The login window changed into a normal windows xp welcome screen.

Never mind, I found how to change that into classic prompt by going to user account in control panel.
