Adobe Distiller 9 - problem opening

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9; installed without any problems. I would like to set the preferences for Adobe Distiller (e.g., ask for destination, file name, view as soon as converted Etc); but when I click to open Distiller, it starts to open the main introductory screen (Acrobat Distiller 9,,,"chekcing fonts....") and then immediately closes. How can I get in?

Acrobat works ok, can convert without problems.
